Meet Our Rock Climbing Developer: Douglas Morales

by | Sep 5, 2014

This week, we had the privilege of introducing a new member to the Resound team—Mr. Douglas Morales.  It’s been a lot of fun getting to know him this past week, and we want to let you in on the fun. We had a chance to sit down with him and ask him a few questions.

So pop some popcorn, take a load off and enjoy his answers!

Resound: If money were no object, what would you do all day?

Douglas: This is a very tough question to answer, there are a number of things I would do. Starting off, I would push all my hobbies to the limit (slacklining, rock climbing, biking and hiking), then I would do all of those around the world while learning to cook from each location.

Resound: What has been your biggest challenge?

Douglas: Another tough question. The challenge I face everyday is self-scrutiny or self-deprecation. I’m always thinking about thinking on what to think of myself. It’s a challenge I face daily in most activities, but I enjoy the symptoms of it.

Resound: What does your perfect day look like?

Douglas: With money being an object, my perfect day would be waking up and unzipping my tent to a beautiful scenery before sunrise; slacklining on a mountaintop while the sun casts its orange across the land. After the sun goes down, I’d make a campfire and cook for the rest of the night.

Resound: If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what would it be and why?

Douglas: 17 was a pretty solid age. I just graduated high school, had a car which I thought was the coolest at the time, and I couldn’t grow facial hair so I never had to shave. It was also an age where things were still illegal, so it added a level of extra excitement.

Resound: If you had to be tied to someone for 24 hours, who would it be?

Douglas: Houdini—we wouldn’t make it past 7 minutes.

Resound: If you were on death row, what would you choose as your last meal?

Douglas: I really enjoy country fried chicken…or is it chicken fried chicken? Whichever it is; that, with a side of mashed potatoes and broccoli. For dessert—a bag of day old popcorn from Harkins Theatres.

Resound: Alright, it’s time to get personal…where do you think Waldo is?

Douglas: I’m not at liberty to say.

Resound: IMPROV TIME! Name ten things you are most looking forward to at Resound Creative.

Douglas:

  1. There is an appreciation of freshly roasted coffee here, so trying various new flavored roasters from all over is pretty exciting. I can’t wait to bring in a bag to share with the office.
  2. Playing 3 hack whack with my new Resound hacky sack.
  3. Getting to know my new workmates better to see what really makes them tick and what tickles their fancy.
  4. The basketball match the crew from down the hall challenged us to.
  5. Getting fit by taking advantage of the early morning team workouts.
  6. An improv session where somebody laughs so hard their head literally falls off, so we have to scramble to pick it up and take him to the hospital. But there is blood everywhere so we can’t really get a grip of his head. We had no choice but to call his emergency contact to come deal with it.
  7. Developing until my head falls off, figuratively.
  8. I think if I try really hard I can actually get taller here.
  9. More ‘name ten things’ questions.
  10. World peace.
