Resound in a “Conch Shell”

by | Sep 26, 2014

Resound would like to introduce to you, Mr. Garrett McConchie. Garrett started out in a much smaller role earlier in the year, doing contracting work here and there. As of July, this role has evolved into a much bigger part of Resound Creative. As our marketing specialist, he controls and writes a huge majority of the content that we put out.

This usually includes anything from blog posts, to company brand definitions, or just overall marketing strategies. Take a second and get to know the man behind the words!

Resound: How do you like to relax?

Garrett: Usually I like to just sit back and do nothing. To be honest, this is really the only way for me to shut my brain off completely. I turn on my record player, throw a vinyl on, and just let it play.

Resound: When was the last time you had an amazing meal?

Garrett: Sushi in San Diego was probably my last amazing meal. Every bite just kept getting better.

Resound: What’s the number one most played artist on your iPod?

Garrett: It really depends on the day or mood. But if I had to give a name (or two), I’d probably say either Frank Sinatra or Mumford & Sons.

Resound: If you could have any accent, what would it be?

Garrett: Oh, Irish. Hands down. My family is Irish and I’ve always loved that accent so much!

Resound: What is the most inspiring movie you have ever seen?

Well first off, let me just say that asking me anything about movies is almost impossible to get a straightforward answer on. I LOVE movies, so picking one movie in any category is incredibly hard for me. So again, this answer will probably change depending on what day you ask me, but for most inspirational, I’d probably say “The Pursuit of Happyness.” It genuinely made me work harder while I was trying to find a job my freshman year of college.

Resound: If you could bring someone famous back from the grave, whom would you choose?

Garrett: Oh, that’s tough. I’d have to go with Frank Sinatra at the moment. Although I’d also like to preemptively bring Vin Scully (voice of the Dodgers) back from the dead. I don’t want that day to ever come.

Resound: Have you ever tried archery?

Garrett: I have, actually! I love archery. I can’t do it as much anymore, because I have a bad shoulder, but I used to do it all the time. In fact, at my old job, we would hold these summer camps and I would teach kids how to shoot a bow. It was a lot of fun.

Resound: IMPROV TIME: Name 10 ways you would not like to die

Garrett:

1.     Crushed to death by an elephant.

2.     Snakes on a plane.

3.     Volunteering for the hunger games.

4.     Heat stroke (lookin’ at you, Arizona summers).

5.     Scared to death by a clown…which is surprisingly plausible.

6.     Playing a game with Jigsaw.

7.     Being strangled by a giant octopus underwater.

8.     Being attacked by bees. It would hurt like crazy, and you’d look ridiculous to someone standing far away.

9.     Braking suddenly in a brinks truck, and getting crushed by quarters.

10.  Method acting a death scene
